Level 2 Network Engineer at Centra Networks, a Brisbane-based MSP/ISP, supporting and maintaining national carrier-grade network infrastructure and providing escalated support for enterprise clients. Centra Networks is a Managed Services Provider and Licensed Telecommunications Carrier with 21 years in the industry. Our dual MSP/ISP structure lets us deliver true end-to-end solutions, from managed IT to our own carrier-grade network, and we're looking for a motivated Level 2 Network Engineer to help support that network and our enterprise clients across South East Queensland.
What You'll Do
Support and maintain our national carrier-grade network infrastructure
Configure and troubleshoot enterprise network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, HPE, Ubiquiti)
Implement firewall security policies and network access controls
Provide escalated (Level 2) technical support for complex connectivity issues
Monitor network performance and proactively optimise system reliability
Contribute to network infrastructure projects and rollouts
Maintain accurate network documentation and operating procedures
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Minimum 3 years' networking experience
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, switching, and routing
Hands-on experience with routing protocols
Firewall configuration experience (Palo Alto preferred)
Solid understanding of VLANs and Spanning Tree
Familiarity with NBN, fibre, and fixed wireless technologies
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Desirable:
Virtualisation experience (Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V)
SD-WAN and failover technologies
Scripting knowledge
VoIP/SIP experience
Relevant certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) highly regarded
