Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers in 24x7 production environments.

• Support AWS and hybrid cloud connectivity, including VPC, VPN, Direct Connect, routing and on-premise integration.

• Configure and maintain firewalls, security groups, NACLs, network segmentation and security controls.

• Monitor and optimise network performance using SolarWinds, PRTG, CloudWatch or equivalent tools.

• Troubleshoot network outages, latency, connectivity and packet loss, working with cloud teams, telcos and vendors.

• Support network deployments, changes, upgrades, DR and failover activities.

• Participate in incident management and RCA, including after-hours support when required.

• Maintain network documentation, diagrams and runbooks, and recommend improvements to security, performance and scalability.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

• Minimum 3 years’ network engineering/operations experience in enterprise or mission-critical environments.

• Prior experience with AWS networking (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect) is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP and VPN.

• Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet or Check Point firewalls is preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Willing to support after-hours maintenance and critical incidents.
