Network Engineer / Team Lead

The Network Engineer / Team Lead is responsible for the design, implementation,

administration, optimization, and support of the organization's enterprise network

infrastructure across all Singapore campuses. This role oversees the stability, security, and

performance of the network environment while providing Level 3 technical support for

complex incidents, problem resolution, and infrastructure changes.

The incumbent leads the implements best practices for network security and availability and

drives continuous service improvement initiatives. As a technical lead, the role provides

guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership to the IT team, ensuring knowledge sharing,

operational excellence, and adherence to established standards and procedures.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers, the Network

Engineer / Team Lead ensures the delivery of a secure, scalable, resilient, and highly

available network infrastructure that supports the organization's operational and business

objectives across all campuses.

Key Responsibilities

 Participate in the management, prioritization, analysis, and resolution of

complex network incidents, problems, and enhancement requests.

 Proactively identify potential issues, perform root cause analysis, and

recommend permanent solutions to improve network stability and service

availability.

 Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and

data center network infrastructure.

 Perform advanced configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of

enterprise network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless

controllers, NAC, and load balancers.

 Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and network services.

 Perform firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and preventive

maintenance.

 Lead the implementation of approved Change Requests (CRs) in accordance

with change management processes and prepare Problem Management reports

following major incidents.

 Resolve complex technical issues that cannot be addressed by Level 1 and Level

2 support teams.

 Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies, standards, and

audit plans to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory

requirements.

 Secure network infrastructure through access control, monitoring,

segmentation, vulnerability mitigation, and continuous evaluation of security

controls. Monitor network performance and capacity, identify bottlenecks, and

recommend infrastructure improvements to optimize performance and

reliability.

 Collaborate with vendors on hardware and software upgrades, testing,

evaluation, implementation, and lifecycle management.

 Design, implement, and support enterprise wireless networks using IEEE

802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards, including wireless security and RF coverage

analysis using heat mapping tools.

 Maintain accurate network diagrams, technical documentation, standard

operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration records.

 Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to junior network

engineers and support staff.

 Design and deliver technical training sessions and user awareness programs

related to network services and security best practices.

 Ensure compliance with IT governance, ITSM processes, security standards, and

Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

 Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V, virtualization technologies, and Storage Area

Network (SAN) administration.

 Knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup job configuration,

scheduling, monitoring, and virtual machine (VM) restoration.

Preferred Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network

Engineering, or a related field.

 2–4 years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure

support.

 Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies, including

LAN, WAN, SDWAN, VPN, VLAN, routing, switching, QoS, and wireless

networking.

 Experience managing enterprise-class network equipment from vendors such as

Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, or equivalent.

 Knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, NAC, IDS/IPS,

VPN, and network segmentation.

 Experience supporting data center networking, high-availability architectures,

clustering, and disaster recovery solutions.

 Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds,

PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar platforms.

 Experience with network design, documentation, and capacity planning.

 Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba Certified

Professional (ACP), Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent are highly

desirable.

 Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills,

with the ability to mentor junior engineers and manage complex technical

environments.

Working Hours:

 Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

 Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

 Flexibility to work beyond regular office hours when required.

Work Location:

 Primary work base: PG Campus (Punggol).

 Travel to other campuses or sites is required as and when necessary.
