OCI Architect
Summary
Senior (12-20 yrs) enterprise data architecture advisory role in Chennai: reviewing source-system onboarding, data models, governance, and infra/gateway designs for a Microsoft Fabric data platform, while supporting LRP decommissioning across CommEx, Finance, and Shipment domains.
Data Architecture, Source Onboarding & Platform Advisory Support
• Review, validate, and enhance the enterprise data architecture for non-LRP sources, including legacy ERP platforms, EOS, and other identified source systems within the CommEx, Finance, and Shipment domains.
• Assess alignment between source-system requirements and the enterprise architecture approach, including source onboarding standards, Silver-layer conformance, canonical data models, and downstream transformation requirements.
• Validate and recommend improvements to data models, including grain, business keys, relationships, hierarchies, and source-specific mappings to support scalable and reusable data assets.
• Conduct discovery, profiling, and validation of source systems, particularly within the CommEx domain, to establish a comprehensive understanding of data availability, quality, integration complexity, business rules, and future onboarding requirements.
• Support evaluation of Fabric readiness and source coverage by identifying datasets currently consumed through LRP and assessing their availability, completeness, and suitability for ingestion into the enterprise data platform.
• Provide recommendations and supporting analysis for the LRP decommissioning strategy by identifying data dependencies, source-system coverage gaps, migration considerations, and business impacts associated with transitioning workloads from LRP to Fabric.
• Review and provide recommendations on data architecture, data quality, governance, and design standards to ensure consistency, reusability, and scalability across current and future Fabric use cases.
• Support enterprise capacity planning and workload assessment activities by contributing insights on source-system complexity, data volumes, ingestion patterns, transformation requirements, and anticipated business consumption.
• Collaborate with Relevantz, Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, and Data & Analytics teams to identify, resolve, and incorporate architectural gaps, dependencies, and design refinements into shared enterprise models and frameworks.
• Where architectural misalignments are identified, coordinate with relevant implementation teams to agree and incorporate required adjustments before dependent components are developed.
• Ensure architectural decisions enable direct ingestion from source systems, minimize duplicate engineering effort, eliminate overlapping data models, support LRP decommissioning objectives, and establish a unified enterprise data foundation serving CommEx, Finance, Shipment, and future business domains.
• Participate in architecture and design review boards as required to provide advisory input on platform standards, data framework decisions, enterprise architecture alignment, and long-term data strategy
• Support and assess IT-Infra related designs specifically Infra/Application gateways to establish a scalable approach for secure and reliable source-system integration.
• Assist the team building our enterprise data governance model, ensure the project has data structure and quality governance, provide general architectural input & oversight (following Fabric best practice) to ensure we design and deliver a governed, scalable, and enterprise-aligned platform.
Expected experience would typically be:
• 12-18+ years overall IT experience
• 8-10+ years in Data & Analytics Architecture
• Microsoft Fabric expertise
