Job Summary/Overview
On-Call Event Staff support the safe, welcoming, and efficient operation of events at The Nest at Calesa and The Faregrounds. This flexible, event-based role may be assigned to guest arrival and directional assistance, ticket-taking and entry support, parking and traffic flow, food and beverage service, event setup and breakdown, venue cleanliness, and other guest-facing operational needs. Assignments, call times, and staffing levels are determined by the event calendar, expected attendance, and event-specific operating plan. Team members are scheduled as needed and are expected to deliver a professional, helpful experience on every shift.

Guest Arrival, Directional Assistance & Event Flow
- Welcome guests, answer general event and venue questions, and provide clear directions to entrances, seating areas, restrooms, food and beverage locations, activity areas, exits, and other amenities.
- Assist with ticket-taking, guest check-in, wristbanding, scanning, queue management, and entry procedures as assigned.
- Support parking and pedestrian flow by directing guests safely and courteously in designated areas; communicate questions, congestion, or safety concerns to the Event Manager, security, or parking lead.
- Help maintain orderly guest movement before, during, and after events, including line management, wayfinding, and accessible-route support.
Event Operations, Service & Venue Readiness
- Assist with setup, reset, and breakdown of event spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, signage, stanchions, guest-service stations, equipment, and supplies, in accordance with event diagrams and supervisor direction.
- Provide food and beverage service when assigned, including buffet support, passed items, table service, beverage replenishment, bussing, and guest assistance, following established service standards. Some roles may be assigned to bar/beverage service, based on team member skills/experience and event demand.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and guest-ready facility throughout the event, including pickup of litter, bussing, restocking service areas, monitoring restrooms and public spaces, and reporting cleaning or maintenance needs.
- Transport light supplies, equipment, and service items to and from designated storage, staging, and service areas as directed.
- Arrive at the designated call time in proper uniform, ready to complete assigned pre-event duties and remain through required post-event breakdown when scheduled.
Teamwork, Communication & Safety
- Follow instructions from the Event Manager, Event Captain, General Manager, or designated shift lead and remain flexible as assignments change during an event.
- Work collaboratively with operations, food and beverage, security, parking, maintenance, and event partners to support smooth event execution.
- Communicate guest concerns, incidents, lost-and-found items, facility issues, or service problems promptly to a supervisor.
- Follow company policies, event-specific procedures, venue rules, emergency-response protocols, and all applicable safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol-service standards.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or security concerns immediately to a supervisor.
