Operations Coordinator - Shipping/Receiving Clerk
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our manufacturing team. You will handle the accurate and timely movement of incoming materials and outgoing products, with a focus on both domestic and international factory logistics. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong technical compliance knowledge, and safely operates machinery to maintain seamless production schedules
International Shipping & Trade Compliance
- Export Documentation: Prepare and verify critical international shipping paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
- Trade Compliance: Ensure all outgoing and incoming international shipments adhere fully to global trade regulations and compliance standards to avoid factory delays.
Hazardous Materials & Equipment Operation
- Hazmat Handling: Safely handle, log, and process hazardous chemical shipments, preparing all required hazardous goods paperwork according to safety guidelines.
- Material Movement: Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move hazardous chemicals and standard goods between the receiving dock, staging areas, and storage zones.
Shipping, Receiving & Procurement Tracking
- Inbound & Outbound Logistics: Process domestic and international shipments, verify received goods against purchase orders, and inspect freight for damage.
- PO Oversight: Track open purchase order receipts daily and proactively follow up with the procurement team regarding late deliveries that could impact production schedules.
Communication & System Management
- Internal Updates: Proactively track and communicate real-time shipment status updates to internal customers for both inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods.
- Data Entry: Utilize internal logistics software to scan barcodes, log inventory movements, and maintain precise digital tracking.
- License/Certification:Valid Forklift Certification highly beneficial upon hire, with a proven track record of safely handling hazardous chemicals and heavy materials.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Logistics Experience: 1–3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, with specific exposure to international factory logistics.
- Technical Compliance: Proven familiarity with international shipping processes, customs documentation, and hazardous goods paperwork.
- Systems Experience: Experience using an ERP or inventory management system is highly beneficial (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Physical & Soft Skills: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, demonstrate sharp attention to detail, and maintain strong cross-departmental communication
