Discussion
The Operations Sr. Manager is responsible for managing the operational relationship with our AI hardware OEMs and strategic suppliers, translating sourcing strategy and demand requirements into executable production commitments and reliable hardware supply. Reporting to the Sr. Director, AI Hardware Supply Chain Operations, this role partners closely with Technical Sourcing, Integrated Planning, Engineering, Data Center Operations, Finance, and Logistics to ensure GPU, server, networking, and related infrastructure hardware is procured at the right cost, in the right quantity, and delivered on schedule to support IREN’s global data center deployments.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational expertise with a deep understanding of complex technology hardware supply chains, supplier capacity, lead times, commercial terms, and supply risk. This role will be highly cross-functional and requires the ability to move quickly between strategic supplier discussions and detailed execution of purchase orders, forecasts, allocations, and delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Translate demand forecasts, deployment requirements, and sourcing strategies into supplier commitments and executable supply plans.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Operations and Integrated Planning to identify supply gaps and secure incremental capacity, allocation, or expedited production when required.
  • Support Clear-to-Build (CTB) readiness by ensuring suppliers have the required components, materials, and production capacity to meet committed ship dates.
  • Identify and escalate supply risks, including component shortages, production constraints, allocation changes, extended lead times, and supplier capacity limitations.
  • Develop and execute supplier mitigation plans, including alternate sourcing, allocation changes, schedule recovery, expediting, and strategic inventory positioning.
  • Work closely with Logistics and Data Center Operations to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure hardware arrives in alignment with site deployment requirements.
  • Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics and operating cadences, including weekly supplier reviews, delivery tracking, risk assessments, and escalation processes.
  • Support regional procurement execution across EMEA and APAC, including consideration of local supplier capabilities, logistics, import/export requirements, and regional delivery constraints.
  • Continuously improve procurement processes, systems, reporting, and supplier governance to support IREN’s rapid global expansion.

Other Important Requirements
  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing, may be required according to company policies.
  • This role involves frequent travel to supplier and data center sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or materials management, with significant experience managing technology OEMs and hardware suppliers.
  • Deep experience procuring complex technology hardware, ideally GPUs, servers, networking equipment, storage, power infrastructure, or other data center equipment.
  • Proven experience managing OEM supplier relationships, including forecasts, purchase orders, capacity commitments, allocations, lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating supply continuity risks, including constrained components, capacity limitations, allocation issues, single-source exposure, and demand volatility.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate demand forecasts and supply data into supplier commitments.
  • Experience working across geographically distributed supply chains; experience supporting EMEA and/or APAC is preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence suppliers and internal partners without direct authority.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth technology, cloud, AI infrastructure, hyperscale, or data center environments preferred.
