Operations Technician

Summary

Perform inspections, maintenance, and recertification of offshore containers and lifting equipment, ensuring compliance and asset readiness.

Job Specification:

The purpose of the role is to carry out post hire Return Inspections, Testing and Recertification of Offshore Containers & lifting sets as a designated person of competence. Undertake Preventative Maintenance tasks on CCU’s as part of a “best cost” approach to maintaining asset functionality and aesthetics. Supprt CCM by maintaining fleet availability targets, cycle counting fleet and consumable stock levels as well as liaising with vendors to prioritize asset repairs and refurbishment in line with planned objectives.

Principal Accountabilities:

The post holder will:

  • Return inspect assets upon return from hire
  • Perform 12 month Visual Inspection certification of CCU’s and slings
  • Perform 6 monthly sling inspection and colour coding
  • Record defects and fleet grade in Taghub system
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks
    • Grease hinges/Lashing Points
    • Prepare & Touch up exposed metal surface
    • Replace Asset Decals…etc
  • Remove damaged slings and shackles from CCU’s and fit replacements.
  • QC check assets that have been returned from repair or refurbishment
  • Complete asset despatch checklist

Qualifications and Experience:

The post holder will need to possess a:

  • Strong work ethic.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good level of fitness as this job is labour intensive.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Computer Literacy


International travel will be required the post holder will have to have a valid passport
