About the Role
My client is a well-established firm within the Semiconductor industry, and they are looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join their IT team and support mission-critical enterprise and manufacturing systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of Oracle database environments while providing operational support and driving continuous improvements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical issues, maintaining high-availability systems, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Do
- Administer, monitor, and optimize Oracle database environments.
- Investigate and resolve database incidents, alerts, and performance issues.
- Provide Level 2 operational support, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases.
- Support application deployments, database releases, and schema changes.
- Plan and execute database changes in line with change management processes.
- Perform backup, recovery, failover, and disaster recovery testing activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and governance requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience administering Oracle databases in a production environment.
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
- Good understanding of Oracle architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively and respond to business-critical incidents.
