Oracle Database Administrator

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 per month

Responsibilities

Oracle Database Administration

• Administer Oracle 19c databases on ODA and Azure Linux VMs, including CDB/PDB, configuration and listener management.

• Manage Oracle RAC, ASM and Data Guard, including switchover, failover and DR drills.

• Manage RMAN backup and recovery, including validation, restore, PITR and recovery testing.

• Handle database storage and capacity management, including tablespaces, datafiles, SYSAUX, UNDO and TEMP.

• Perform ODA, Oracle Database and OEM patching, upgrades and post-change validation.

Performance Monitoring & Production Support

• Perform database performance monitoring and tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL tuning and SQL Plan Baselines.

• Troubleshoot database performance issues and production incidents, including RCA and corrective actions.

• Manage database monitoring and alerting using OEM 13.5 and Datadog.

• Conduct database health checks and maintain SOPs, runbooks and operational documentation.

Multi-Platform & Cloud Database Administration

• Administer and support Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance, Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server.

• Manage database configuration, high availability, query performance and capacity monitoring.

• Support database migration, copy and refresh activities across environments using technologies such as BACPAC, DMS and CDC.

• Support database migration initiatives across Azure and GCP

• Troubleshoot database connectivity and integration issues involving private endpoints, VNet integration, linked services and DNS/FQDN resolution

Security & Compliance

• Implement database security hardening, vulnerability remediation and access controls in line with CIS benchmarks.

• Support audit and compliance, including backup/recovery testing and evidence collection.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, preferably with Oracle 19c in production environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard and RMAN.

• Practical experience in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) administration and patching.

• Strong database performance-tuning experience using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL tuning, execution plans and SQL Plan Baselines.

• Administer and support Azure SQL Database/MI, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL

• Experience operating databases on Azure and GCP, including PaaS database services and cloud migration tooling

• Proficiency in Shell scripting, SQL and PL/SQL for database monitoring, housekeeping and automation.

• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery and database security.

• Solid production incident management, troubleshooting, RCA and technical documentation experience.

Salary:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
