Oracle Developer
Oracle / PL/SQL Developer
12-Month Contract | Daily Rate | Melbourne CBD
We're partnering with a large enterprise organisation looking for an experienced Oracle / PL/SQL Developer to join a major, multi-year technology program.
This is a hands-on development role working within a large, established enterprise application environment. You'll be working across an existing Oracle codebase, troubleshooting complex issues, enhancing functionality and delivering controlled changes to business-critical systems.
The initial contract is for 12 months, with the program expected to run for several years and strong potential for ongoing extensions.
The role
You'll be responsible for:
Developing, maintaining and enhancing applications built on Oracle Database and PL/SQL
Working across complex existing codebases and understanding dependencies between systems
Troubleshooting production and application issues and identifying root causes
Building and modifying stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers and complex SQL
Supporting application enhancements, releases and ongoing system improvements
Working with Unix/Linux environments and scripting
Reviewing and optimising SQL and PL/SQL where required
Collaborating with technical and business teams across a large enterprise environment
Delivering changes carefully within established development and release processes
What we're looking for
You'll be a strong Oracle Developer, rather than a DBA or Data Engineer, with significant hands-on experience in:
Oracle Database
PL/SQL development
Complex SQL development
Unix/Linux and shell scripting
Troubleshooting and debugging existing enterprise applications
Working within large, complex technology environments
Maintaining and enhancing mature systems rather than working solely on greenfield development
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ)
SQL and database performance tuning
High-volume transactional systems
Billing or metering platforms
Energy, utilities or similarly complex regulated environments
The opportunity
This would suit an experienced Oracle Developer who enjoys getting deep into complex systems and solving technical problems, rather than someone looking purely for greenfield development.
You'll be joining a significant long-term program with plenty of technical depth, an established enterprise environment and the potential for multiple contract extensions.
If you're an experienced Oracle / PL/SQL Developer looking for a substantial long-term contract, apply now for a confidential discussion.
