Position Overview:
The DC Order Assignment Specialist (Waver) is responsible for the efficient and accurate allocation and release of customer orders to the Order Pickers and other warehouse associates. This role is the critical link between the customer order flow and the physical fulfillment process, requiring strong computer skills and a focus on optimizing labor resource usage and order priority. You will be responsible for the administrative function of order waving, system monitoring, and reporting daily progress toward key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:
- Order Waving and Assignment: Utilize the distribution software system to wave, prioritize, and assign customer orders to Order Pickers and other work teams based on established criteria, order priority, shipping deadlines, and product availability.
- System and Work Flow Monitoring: Continuously monitor the Distribution Center's work queues and various order assignment dashboards to ensure a steady and balanced workflow for all fulfillment teams.
- Labor Coordination: Coordinate with Supervisors and Managers to adjust the order waving strategy and labor assignment based on shifting operational priorities and available labor resources.
- Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all assigned orders are waved and released in accordance with the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain inventory and order accuracy.
- Performance Reporting: Perform an administration function by accurately recording and reporting on daily work achievements, including order release volume, team throughput, and performance against team KPIs.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve minor system and order release issues; escalate complex problems to the DC Order Fulfillment Supervisor or IT support as needed.
- Order Fulfillment Support: Be prepared to perform various warehouse tasks, such as printing labels, preparing shipping documentation, or performing administrative duties, in support of meeting order deadlines.
