Packaging Engineer

The Packaging Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all packaging processes are technically validated, accurately documented, and fully aligned with customer requirements before implementation into warehouse operations. The role serves as the technical authority for packaging, ensuring that every new or modified product is assessed, validated, and supported by clear and effective Packing Instructions that enable safe, consistent, and repeatable packing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections by validating new products against customer packaging specifications.
• Create, maintain, and continuously improve Packing Instructions for warehouse operations.
• Validate packaging concepts to ensure compliance with customer standards and operational requirements.
• Configure and maintain packaging-related master data in SAP.
• Manage packaging engineering changes, including phase-in, phase-out, and obsolete packaging materials.
• Develop and implement approved alternative packaging solutions when standard packaging is unavailable.
• Act as the primary technical contact for packaging-related topics with customer representatives.
• Support the introduction of new packaging processes by providing technical guidance to warehouse operations.
• Collaborate with Packaging Planning, Operations, Quality, and other stakeholders to implement packaging solutions. Identify opportunities to optimize packaging
• performance, material utilization, and packaging costs.
• Maintain accurate packaging documentation and ensure effective document control.

Your Profile:

• Proven experience in packaging engineering, warehouse operations, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
• Experience with packaging validation, First Article Inspection (FAI), and packaging implementation processes.
• Hands-on experience creating, maintaining, and updating technical work instructions, packaging specifications, and operational documentation.
• Experience with SAP master data management or comparable ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to implement engineering changes while ensuring operational continuity and minimal disruption to business processes.
• Experience interpreting and working with customer requirements, technical specifications, and quality standards.
• Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational environment
  Fluent in Czech and English; additional languages are an advantage
