Position Purpose:

Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]
· Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations. · Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment. · Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures, functions as primary liaison between clinic patients, staff, and providers. · Responsible for maintaining all applicable KHI Policies and Procedures. · Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care. · Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due. · Schedules/confirms appointments. · Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider. · Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations. · Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens. · Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests. · May perform venipuncture. · Participates in division meetings. |

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program Licensure: Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Skills and Knowledge: · Ability to communicate effectively with others, to manage multiple priorities and tasks · Maintain attention to detail · Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications · Able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol · Knowledge of and ability to implement direct care, newborn through geriatric · Knowledge of and ability to use basic medical terminology Clinic Specific Requirements: Pain Management: ACLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross |
