Patient Access Associate

The Patient Access Associate is responsible for performing detailed medical record/patient look up confirming patient identifiers to avoid duplicate medical record. Register and interview patients and/or designated representative at point of service, or at bedside, to verify demographic, insurance and primary care physician information. Process to include insurance verification and eligibility, identification of PCP; includes NYCDOH birth and death registration. Monitor ED tracking board; timely bed assignments from ED and direct admits. Processes elective surgery procedures to include financial clearance. Prepares end of shift census reports for management.
