About the Role

The Patient Navigator – Hereditary Cancer Testing plays a critical role in guiding patients through key stages of their genetic testing and diagnostic journey. Based in Queen Creek, AZ however you will be floating to Chandler, AZ 20 hours a week, this position provides patient education, care coordination, and limited phlebotomy support while working closely with a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver a seamless, compassionate, and high-quality patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to high-risk patients undergoing hereditary cancer genetic testing.
  • Register patients and coordinate scheduling for follow-up visits and related services.
  • Establish trust and confidence with patients by clearly and compassionately explaining procedures and next steps.
  • Perform blood draws and specimen collection with accuracy and professionalism (approximately 5–10% of the role, with potential to expand based on operational needs).
  • Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens at the time of collection.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation and records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and site leadership to complete daily operational and patient-care tasks efficiently.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned patients and demonstrate HALO’s commitment to precision medicine and early detection.
