Our Surfacing Division covers maintenance of New Zealand roads and is looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead our Gisborne based Paving crew in reconstruction and resurfacing works/asphalt paving activities across the Canterbury Region.
Other responsibilities include:
Arrange, direct and monitor activities of crews and subcontractors to ensure that their work meets project objectives and requirements.
Maintain strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders
Ensure efficient use of resource
Assist in the selection, coaching and development of staff

This role will be ‘hands on’ where you will be providing training and development to the crews under your supervision, so you will need to have a proven track record of leadership. You’ll also have:
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Ability to deal with unexpected events and provide direction
- A Class 2 drivers licence with a WTR endorsement
- Knowledge of the laying and compaction of bituminous materials
- Knowledge of paving plant operation
- Knowledge of asphalt mix designs
- Able to undertake site measurement and accurately order materials with minimal wastage
