PC - Solid Waste Management
Job Purpose
will be responsible for overseeing daily Material Recovery
Facility (MRF) and Organic Waste Converter (OWC) operations, ensuring efficient
waste processing, compliance, documentation, workforce management, and
stakeholder coordination. The role requires strong operational oversight, data
management, vendor coordination, and the ability to drive performance targets
while maintaining safety and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Survey,
Data Collection & Field Coordination
- Support the planning and
coordination of surveys and field data collection activities related to
waste management projects.
- Assist in stakeholder mapping,
audits, and material characterization studies by coordinating with field
teams and partners.
- Facilitate data collection
activities and ensure timely submission of information from project sites.
- Support the implementation of
established frameworks for data collection and monitoring.
- Compile, analyze, and present
project data to provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the execution of
audits and ensure audit findings are documented and communicated to
relevant stakeholders.
- Support supply chain mapping
exercises for dry waste management and assist in maintaining relationships
with authorized recyclers and end destinations.
Operations
Coordination & Process Support
- Coordinate with site teams,
MRFs, and OWC plant personnel to support smooth day-to-day operations.
- Track activities related to
waste receiving, segregation, sorting, processing, storage, and dispatch.
- Monitor operational performance
indicators and share observations with project leadership.
- Conduct periodic site visits to
collect information, identify challenges, and support process improvement
initiatives.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to
operational procedures, workplace cleanliness, safety, and hygiene
standards.
Performance
Tracking & Monitoring
- Support the tracking of monthly
processing, recovery, and dispatch targets.
- Maintain project trackers and
assist in monitoring operational and project performance metrics.
- Compile progress updates and
prepare periodic reports for management review.
- Support the monitoring of
sorting quality and recovery outcomes through data collection and
analysis.
Documentation,
Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain project records,
databases, dashboards, stock records, and operational documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely
documentation of project activities, progress reports, meeting minutes,
and correspondence.
- Prepare regular status reports
and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support data verification and
ensure compliance with organizational documentation standards.
Compliance
& Stakeholder Coordination
- Assist in tracking compliance
requirements related to environmental, safety, and organizational
standards.
- Coordinate documentation
related to MoUs, audits, statutory requirements, and compliance records.
- Serve as a coordination point
between Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), government agencies, project partners,
and internal teams.
- Support internal and external
audit processes and follow up on action items.
- Promote data-driven and
technology-enabled approaches in project implementation.
Team
& Capacity Building Support
- Coordinate with field teams to
monitor attendance, manpower deployment, and project activities.
- Support training and
capacity-building initiatives for field staff and stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication
between project teams and management to ensure effective implementation.
- Assist in promoting adherence
to workplace safety standards and organizational guidelines.
Vendor
& Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with vendors,
service providers, and technicians regarding maintenance schedules and
operational requirements.
- Track resolution of maintenance
and operational issues and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain records of equipment
performance, service activities, and maintenance requirements.
Project
Support & Organizational Development
- Support initiatives related to
source segregation, circular economy practices, waste recovery, and
sustainability projects.
- Assist in preparing project
plans, presentations, proposals, and stakeholder communication materials.
- Contribute to knowledge
management, documentation of best practices, and project scaling efforts.
- Be willing to travel and
provide coordination support across project locations as required.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's
degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Operations Management, Waste
Management, or related field.
- 0–5 years of experience in plant operations, waste management, recycling,
logistics, or facility management.
- Strong
knowledge of operational reporting, documentation, compliance, and
stakeholder management.
- Proficiency
in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and reporting tools.
- Strong
communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
