PCS - Design

Summary

Design and develop power-conversion systems for battery energy storage and renewable energy projects, including architecture, specs, and compliance testing.

Key Responsibilities PCS Design & Development
  • Design and develop PCS architecture for BESS and renewable energy applications.
  • Define electrical specifications, single-line diagrams (SLD), and system configurations.
  • Select appropriate inverter, converter, transformer, switchgear, and protection equipment.
  • Develop technical specifications and engineering design documents.
System Engineering
  • Perform power system studies, load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
  • Ensure seamless integration between PCS, Battery Management System (BMS), EMS, and SCADA.
  • Evaluate grid interconnection requirements and compliance standards.
  • Support system optimization for efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Design Validation & Testing
  • Develop validation plans and testing procedures.
  • Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
  • Analyze test data and resolve system performance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
Technical Documentation
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations and reports.
  • Develop design guidelines, operational manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
  • Support certification and regulatory compliance activities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with BMS, EMS, Project Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and customer interactions.
  • Support troubleshooting activities during installation and commissioning.
Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate emerging technologies in power electronics and energy storage.
  • Support cost optimization and design improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to innovation and product development activities.

Educational Qualification
  • B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
