The opportunity
You’ll shape the Pega architecture and technical direction for one of New Zealand’s leading banks. Working alongside platform, product and delivery leaders, you’ll guide Lead System Architects on complex decisions, set standards and help turn workflow automation and AI-driven self-service into better outcomes for customers and colleagues.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing technical leadership for the bank’s Pega capability and setting architectural direction across teams.
• Shaping end-to-end solution blueprints across case management, workflows, integrations and data.
• Owning Pega architecture standards, reusable patterns, guardrails and technical assurance.
• Helping shape the technical roadmap, including modernisation, reuse and reducing technical debt.
• Partnering with business, product and delivery teams to turn requirements into effective Pega solutions.
• Supporting complex problem solving through delivery, including integration, testing and production readiness.
• Mentoring and coaching others on what good looks like.

What you’ll bring
Pega certification (such as Certified Lead System Architect or equivalent) and experience leading the architecture and delivery of multiple complex, enterprise-scale Pega implementations, typically over seven or more years. You’ll have strong skills in case and workflow design, integration and data architecture, and Pega guardrails, plus sound judgement on security, performance and resilience. Experience in banking, financial services or another regulated industry is strongly preferred. You’ll communicate clearly, build alignment across disciplines and influence without direct authority.
