Are you compassionate, energetic, and ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents? Behind every thriving, person-centered assisted living community is a dedicated care team that treats residents like family. We are currently seeking a caring Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to provide hands-on, resident-centered personal care and support for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Whether you are already certified or looking to start an exciting new path in healthcare, if you excel at building meaningful relationships and want to support a team dedicated to life enhancement, we would love to have you on board!

About the Role

As a PSS, you will help create a caring environment as part of a clinical team, focusing on providing personal support to your residents in an assisted living environment. You will provide services related to a member’s physical requirements for assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) according to an authorized plan of care. Getting to know your residents and brightening their days is one of the most rewarding parts of this job!

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Providing excellent, resident-centered personal care, including hands-on assistance with showering, bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.

  • Daily Support Services: Helping with meal service, laundry, housekeeping, and other supportive tasks as assigned.

  • Team Collaboration: Working with independence, flexibility, and good judgment as an integral part of our clinical team to maintain a safe, positive environment for all residents.

What We Offer You

  • Flexible Shifts: Designed to support your schedule and lifestyle.

  • Education Support & Growth: Tuition reimbursement, education support, and opportunities to grow your career.

  • Paid Training Opportunities: Not yet a PSS? We will train you! Plus, we provide training to become a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA)—which allows you to receive an immediate pay increase.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Eligible employees have access to full medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.

  • Financial Security & Savings: 401(k) retirement savings program with employer contributions.

  • Time Off & Environment: Paid Time Off (PTO) available to all employees and a wonderful, supportive working environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certification: Personal Support Specialist (PSS) certification—or, if you are not yet a PSS, we are happy to train you!

  • Experience & Values: Experience with, or a strong desire to spend your workday caring for people (especially older adults and/or those who are chronically ill), paired with a focus on high-level customer service.

  • Core Skills: Ability to work with independence, flexibility, and good judgment, backed by strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to safety and positive relationships.

  • Screening & Contingencies: All job offers are contingent upon receiving excellent references and passing the Maine State Background Check.
