PHP Developer - CodeIgniter, MySQL & AWS

PHP developer: CodeIgniter, MySQL and AWS 3 to 7 years

We are looking for a PHP developer with experience in CodeIgniter, MySQL, AWS, and API development. Youll build and support backend features, work directly with customers, and coordinate delivery with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and CodeIgniter.
• Build REST APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Take features from requirement gathering and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Speak with customers to understand requirements, clarify issues, share technical updates, and coordinate resolutions.
• Turn customer and business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Work with Product, Engineering, and QA to manage dependencies and deliver work on time.
• Design and optimize MySQL databases, queries, indexes, and data models.
• Build and support applications using AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and IAM.
• Implement API authentication, authorization, data validation, and error handling.
• Troubleshoot application, API, database, and production issues.
• Write reusable code and maintain technical documentation.

Required skills

• 37 years of hands-on PHP development experience, including CodeIgniter.
• Understanding of MVC architecture, object-oriented programming, and backend development.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, webhooks, and third-party integrations.
• Strong MySQL skills, including database design, joins, indexing, and query optimization.
• Practical experience with AWS, particularly EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and IAM.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Postman, Linux, and application deployment.
• Knowledge of application security, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
• Clear verbal and written communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts to customers and non-technical stakeholders.

Communication and ownership

• Manage feature delivery, timelines, and customer issues through resolution.
• Clarify requirements, set expectations, and keep customers and internal teams informed.
• Identify risks and blockers, prioritize work, and follow issues through to closure.

Preferred skills

• Experience building and supporting production web applications.
• Exposure to AWS serverless architectures, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, caching, or background processing.
• Experience with customer onboarding, technical discussions, release coordination, or production support.
