Physician (Primary Care)
The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System's Primary Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Primary Care Physician located at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center. This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Duties include but are not limited to: Acts as a Primary Care Physician/Provider for a panel of patients. Performs and records history and physical examinations and records data from clinic visits. Evaluates, consults, develops diagnosis, and manages the primary care panel of patients assigned. Enters progress notes in computerized medical records and completes workload documentation in a timely manner. Determines medical assessment and develops treatment plans according to accepted protocols. Evaluates and treats acute and chronic health problems for scheduled and unscheduled patients in the clinic setting. Provides appropriate documentation to minimally include history, physical exam findings, diagnosis, definitive care plan and disposition of the patient. Orders diagnostic tests, medications, laboratory tests as medically relevant for each patient. Coordinates preventive health care needs according to guidelines established by the Department of Veterans Affairs and sound medical practice. Measurement of clinical performance is based upon quality reviews, completion of clinical reminders in CPRS or associated Electronic Health Record, participation in medical center committees, and other methods. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
