Planning Engineer

· Integrates engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning schedules into the overall project schedule and manages the schedule interface with internal partners

· Reviews tender documents including detailed review of the Instructions to tenders, scope of work, key contract dates, project milestones

· Establishes the bid schedule and communicates with various department for e.g., Engineering, Procurement & Other department to get proposal inputs

· Generates schedule on project management software Primavera (P3.1, P6.2) & Microsoft project for different kind of Projects for bid proposal up to Level-5 e.g., Onshore & Cross-Country pipeline, offshore platform, refinery expansion, material handling, power plant and tankage

· Understands the project execution philosophy and the work break down structure, along with the detailed functional schedule (Engineering Procurement, Construction & Commissioning)

· Identifies & explores objective of the Projects & submits all planning/project control related technical document required in the Project

· Prepares technical/commercial qualifications

· Resources planning & its maximum utilization, adheres project monitoring-reviewing, utilizes to the best capacity of available manpower, machinery, materials within the project

· Prepares & tracks the project master schedule and summary level curves and manpower histogram

· Identifies, monitors & streamlines the critical paths running through the project master schedule and individual contracts

· Submits weekly/monthly reports generation including ‘S’-curves for client & Management review

· Prepares, reviews & publishes MIS & monthly/weekly/daily reports on operational activities

· Monitors the use of ‘Progress Monitoring Tools’ such as ‘S – Curve’

· Identifies the changing priorities as per the project requirements and updates the same in schedules

· Identifies the critical areas like procurement status, delivery dates, shop drawings approval, and material approvals & informs the management to eliminate the delays in the project

· Generates the micro-schedules for the site execution team from the main/target programs and prepares the recovery schedules to catch-up the lags in the project

· Tracks and reports schedule performance with an integrated view of hours

· Performs other duties assigned by immediate superior as & when required

· 5 years’ experience in UAE with a similar position on Infrastructure projects

· Excellent knowledge in specialized planning & scheduling software utilization (Primavera and/or MS Project)

· Full awareness and implementation of the requirements of the quality management system and the environmental management system

· Good knowledge of engineering/design scope, job working instruction / procedures, good project control practices in planning and scheduling and overall awareness of projects

· Ability to work in a highly competitive market with extremely challenging targets and timelines

· Ability to perform under pressure
