Platform Engineer (Contract till Dec 31st)
Summary
Build and maintain cloud-native platforms that give developers self-service access to runtime environments using Kubernetes, Azure, and IaC tools like Terraform.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain modern platform solutions that empower developers with fast, frictionless, and self-service access to runtime environments
- Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to co-design platform capabilities and provide them with a modern, customizable developer workplace with exceptional developer experience
- Develop intelligent automations to streamline platform operations, deployments, and maintenance tasks
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of owned services, applying high-quality principles and proactive resilience engineering
- Provide support to key stakeholders, addressing complex technical challenges with a consultative approach and ensuring minimal disruption to business-critical services
- Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability risks, and lead initiatives to elevate platform maturity, reliability, and developer experience
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Systems Engineer
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts, containerization, and orchestration with technologies like Kubernetes, Azure, and Ansible
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and their integration into workflows
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Knowledge of .NET and Windows ecosystem with an exposure to IIS setup and administration and/or Java and Jboss ecosystems
- Highly self-motivated and proactive team player with a strong sense of ownership, customer-centric mindset, a hands-on mentality, and the ability to drive and manage change independently
- Proven track record in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
