Summary
Corework Staffing is hiring a Platform Engineer to design and maintain internal developer platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes environments, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD tooling that improve developer productivity and reliability. It is a full-time remote role, but candidates must already live in one of nine approved US metro areas (e.g., Dallas, Atlanta, Miami).
Platform Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms and cloud-native infrastructure that enable engineering teams to deliver software faster, safer, and at scale. This role focuses on creating reusable infrastructure components, automation frameworks, and self-service tooling that improves developer productivity and system reliability.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD systems, container orchestration, infrastructure as code, and platform engineering practices. They are passionate about building scalable platforms that abstract infrastructure complexity and empower software engineering teams.

To support collaboration with engineering and infrastructure teams, candidates must currently reside in one of the following metropolitan areas in the United States:

Key Responsibilities
Platform Design & Engineering
Design, build, and maintain scalable internal developer platforms
Develop standardized infrastructure components and reusable services
Create self-service tooling for application deployment and management
Improve developer experience (DevEx) through automation and abstraction layers
Define platform architecture standards and best practices
Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Engineering
Build and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
Design highly available, scalable, and secure platform services
Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
Optimize compute, storage, networking, and service performance
CI/CD & Developer Tooling
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for enterprise-scale deployments
Build automation tools for build, test, release, and deployment workflows
Improve software delivery speed, reliability, and consistency
Integrate security and compliance into development pipelines (DevSecOps)
Support version control, artifact management, and release engineering systems
Observability & Reliability
Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing across platform services
Build dashboards and alerting systems for platform health and performance
Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance of platform systems
Collaborate with SRE teams to improve system reliability and uptime
Define SLOs and SLIs for platform services
Security & Compliance
Integrate security controls into platform architecture and workflows
Enforce identity, access management (IAM), and least privilege principles
Ensure compliance with security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.)
Support secrets management, encryption, and secure configuration practices
Collaborate with Security teams on audits and risk assessments
Developer Experience & Enablement
Work closely with Software Engineers to understand infrastructure needs
Reduce operational burden by providing abstractions and automation
Improve onboarding experience for engineering teams
Create documentation, templates, and best practices for platform usage
Act as an enabler for fast and safe software delivery
Infrastructure Automation & Optimization
Automate provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management of infrastructure
Improve cost efficiency through resource optimization and usage monitoring
Support multi-environment and multi-tenant platform strategies
Implement policy-as-code and infrastructure governance frameworks
Continuously improve platform performance and scalability
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or SRE roles
Strong experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerized workloads
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent)
Strong programming or scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar)
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of Linux systems and distributed systems fundamentals
Strong problem-solving and automation mindset
Must currently reside in one of the approved locations listed above
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience building internal developer platforms (IDP) or platform engineering frameworks
Familiarity with tools like ArgoCD, Helm, Flux, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, etc.)
Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack)
Experience with API gateways and service orchestration
Understanding of DevSecOps and security automation practices
Experience in large-scale distributed systems or enterprise environments
Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in cloud environments
Certifications in cloud or DevOps technologies
