Platform Software Engineer

Job Overview:

We are looking for an ambitious and solution-oriented Platform Software Engineer - II with 4-6 years of server-side experience to join our core engineering team in Pune. In this hybrid role, you will work on scaling a global product footprint that handles 85k+ RPS peak traffic, sub-30ms response times, and hundreds of gigabytes of data transfer per hour. This position is built for a strong backend systems engineer who thrives on solving complex data structure challenges, refining large-scale system designs, and building high-throughput infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Core Platform Scaling: Maintain and advance the resiliency, availability, and low latency of core platform services delivered to over 820 million monthly active users globally.
• Distributed Infrastructure: Collaborate with multiple high-scale databases and data streams (YugabyteDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Postgres) to ensure seamless multi-component interaction.
• Service & API Ownership: Build, publish, and maintain internal reusable services and highly robust APIs to enable agile feature engineering cohorts.
• Code Governance: Write clean, highly testable backend code, perform rigorous technical code reviews, and maintain engineering standards.
• Engineering Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior members of the development squad, actively participate in performance optimizations, and assist in technical hiring workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of intensive backend software development experience building medium-to-large scale distributed server systems.
• Strong working knowledge of backend production languages such as Java or Clojure, with a preferred background or interest in functional programming paradigms.
• Thorough grounding in computer science fundamentals, including complex data structures, algorithmic time-complexity, and system architecture.
• Proficient with Posix-compliant environments (Linux/Mac OS X), CLI tooling, and building end-to-end unit and integration test strategies.
• B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent technical undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
