Port Engineer

• Conduct inspections of project vessels (tugs, barges, crew boats, workboats) to identify mechanical, electrical, and structural issues • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in ship systems including engines, propulsion, hydraulics, and electrical systems • Develop and implement repair and maintenance plans for project-related marine assets • Coordinate with workshop teams, vessel crews, and subcontractors to execute repairs efficiently • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for all project vessels • Liaise with classification societies (ABS, DNV, Lloyds) for surveys, audits, and certification maintenance • Ensure all project vessels comply with statutory certifications including SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and ISM/ISPS codes • Track certificate expiration dates and coordinate timely renewals with flag state and class authorities • Prepare vessels for Port State Control inspections and assist in addressing any deficiencies • Coordinate with project management to ensure marine assets are available and ready for project schedules • Provide technical support during vessel mobilizations, demobilizations, and project operations • Ensure crew performs maintenance tasks including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs as required • Supervise and monitor crew activities, providing clear instructions and safety guidance • Enforce safety protocols and ensure crew members are equipped with proper PPE • Maintain accurate documentation including vessel certificates, survey reports, and maintenance logs • Assess risks related to vessel compliance and equipment readiness; proactively address potential issues • Stay updated with latest marine regulations and industry best practices

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as Port Engineer, Marine Engineer, or Fleet Engineer supporting marine construction or offshore projects • Valid marine engineer license or certification preferred • Strong knowledge of vessel systems including propulsion, auxiliary machinery, hydraulics, and electrical systems • Familiarity with class society rules and statutory certifications for workboats, barges, tugs, and crew vessels • Understanding of SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, ISM, and ISPS requirements • Experience with project mobilization and marine asset readiness • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and MS Office • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
