Position: Power Platform Engineer (Power BI & Power Apps)

Role Summary

The Power Platform Engineer will support the design, development, administration, and maintenance of business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Dataverse. The role contributes to reporting, analytics, process automation, and low-code applications that improve operational efficiency and business decision-making while following TCO governance, cybersecurity, and data privacy requirements.

About the Team

The role supports Digital & Information capabilities focused on Data & Insights and Low Code Solutions. The team works with business stakeholders to deliver reporting, analytics, automation, and application solutions across Microsoft 365 and approved enterprise platforms.

  • Team purpose and responsibilities: deliver and support Power BI reporting, Power Apps solutions, Power Automate workflows, and related integrations.
  • Products, applications, or services supported: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Online and approved enterprise APIs.
  • Collaboration model: work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Digital Architects, and cross-functional business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Reporting

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, and KPI solutions.
  • Create and optimize semantic models, datasets, Power Query transformations, and DAX calculations under guidance.
  • Support self-service reporting solutions for business users across TCO business units.
  • Monitor report performance and data refresh processes, escalating issues when needed.
  • Follow enterprise visualization and data standards for reporting solutions.

Application Development

  • Assist with designing and developing Power Apps Canvas and Model-Driven applications.
  • Configure Microsoft Dataverse tables, forms, business rules, and security roles according to approved designs.
  • Build user interfaces aligned with business process requirements.
  • Contribute to reusable application components, templates, and frameworks.

Workflow Automation

  • Assist in designing and implementing Power Automate workflows and approval processes.
  • Support automation of business processes to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
  • Integrate platforms and systems using standard and custom connectors where approved.
  • Support end-to-end business process automation initiatives.

Data Integration

  • Support integration of Power Platform solutions with SharePoint Online, Dataverse and approved enterprise APIs.
  • Maintain data connectivity, refresh schedules, and integration monitoring documentation.

Governance, Compliance, Support & Collaboration

  • Follow TCO Cybersecurity, Information Protection, and Data Privacy requirements when delivering solutions.
  • Assist with security models, environment controls, and access management activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation and support audit activities as required.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, integration failures, and data anomalies.
  • Support testing, deployment pipelines, change management, release management, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Gather and clarify business requirements with Product Owners and Business Analysts.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and end-user training.

Required Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills

  • Foundational knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Dataverse, SQL, Power Query (M), and DAX.
  • Basic experience or academic/project exposure to developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
  • Basic experience or academic/project exposure to developing Power Apps Canvas and/or Model-Driven applications.
  • Understanding of Power Automate workflows and Microsoft 365 data integration concepts.
  • Ability to work with enterprise data sources and follow documentation, testing, and change management practices.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory exposure.
  • Knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure Synapse.
  • SharePoint Online administration or development knowledge.
  • Microsoft Graph API integration exposure.
  • PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data classification, and information protection frameworks.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale Power Platform environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Microsoft Excel, Azure DevOps, basic programming knowledge, and cloud fundamentals.
