Dinosaur Bar-B-Que began in 1983 as a mobile concession unit serving great Bar-B-Que throughout the Northeast. In 1988, the company opened its first restaurant in Syracuse and has continued to grow to five locations serving delicious Bar-B-Que throughout New York State. We are currently looking for a Prep Cook & Line Support team member to join our Syracuse team!

HOW YOU FIT INTO DINOSAUR BAR-B-QUE (Job Summary):
The Prep Cook & Line Support team member helps keep kitchen operations running smoothly by preparing menu items according to Dinosaur Bar-B-Que recipes and standards, keeping stations stocked and organized, and supporting the line, prep, and smokehouse teams in meeting service demands. The Prep Cook & Line Support team member ensures a seamless guest experience by operating with a sense of urgency and maintaining constant and effective communication with the kitchen and management teams.

WHAT YOU DO (Essential Functions)
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Keep kitchen work areas, equipment, plateware, and utensils clean, sanitary, and organized.
- Communicate with line, prep, and managers to keep stations stocked and service moving.
- Prepare cook-to-order items and support the line to ensure timely guest service.
- Prepare menu items to recipe, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que specifications, and manager-planned quantities.
- Prioritize tasks with urgency in a high-volume kitchen.
- Support line cooks, prep, dish, and smokehouse teams as needed.
- Maintain thorough menu and recipe knowledge.
- Complete prep work and set up the cook’s station according to its diagram.
- Follow Dinosaur Bar-B-Que recipes and procedures for all food preparation.
- Respond promptly to guest requests.
- Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU KNOW (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food preparation equipment.
- Knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow written recipes, instructions, and verbal direction accurately.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure.
