The Role
Our commercial sales professionals of Account Executives and Account Managers rely on proactive technical support during the sales process, and our expert Presales Solution Engineering team is there to assist. Our Boomi SEs follow a prescriptive technical sales cycle and engagement model, focused on effectiveness and efficiency. The SE team is viewed as far more than a technical resource; our SEs are valued partners throughout the sales journey and help build trust with our stakeholders and prospects.
As a Presales Solution Engineer, you will provide pre-sales technical support to our field sales teams throughout the sales process. This includes account and prospect research, collaborative discovery and needs analysis, formulating a technical strategy and win-team, executing on that strategy, and ultimately securing the technical win.
What You’ll Do
- Lead technical discovery and consultative pre-sales engagements with prospective customers.
- Design solution strategies across Boomi’s portfolio of integration, data management, API management and AI.
- Qualify opportunities by understanding customer technical requirements, decision-making processes and underlying demand drivers.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations and technical presentations to both technical and business audiences.
- Partner with Account Executives and Solution Architects to craft compelling proposals that highlight business value and ROI.
- Support RFIs / RFPs and Proof-of-Concept activities, and provide technical guidance that ensures a smooth transition from presales to implementation.
- Understand the competitive landscape and position Boomi’s solutions effectively against alternatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle, and support trade shows, webinars and workshops.
- Work with Boomi’s Partners to help them position the Boomi platform to their customers.
- Coach and mentor fellow team members, sharing knowledge across the wider SE team.
- Stay current on AI trends, LLM-based tooling, competitive offerings, Boomi platform innovations, and general customer and industry trends.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to relate technical features to business impact and value.
- Technical aptitude and a problem-solving mindset, ideally with exposure to integration, data management, API management and AI platforms.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills in English; comfortable engaging executives, developers and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- A natural curiosity and a passion for creative problem-solving – a genuine interest in understanding how things work.
- A self-starter who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional teams and dynamic environments, and is comfortable switching between independent and collaborative work.
- A commitment to continuous learning, alongside a willingness to coach and mentor others.
Preferred
- Above all, a deep, hands-on grounding in integration or iPaaS technology. - Familiarity with several of the following: integration patterns, messaging queues and middleware concepts; APIs and API Management, including Federated API Management; data pipeline and orchestration tools; Managed File Transfer (MFT) protocols and use cases; AI and LLM-based applications such as prompt engineering, RAG, vector search or agent-based automation.
- A track record of successful projects in enterprise accounts.
- Experience in value-based selling methodologies, and in carrying quota and supporting sales planning such as forecasting, account planning and go-to-market strategy.
- Integration experience with enterprise applications such as SAP, Oracle EBS, Fusion, NetSuite, MS Dynamics, ServiceNow, Salesforce or IFS.
- Exposure to basic scripting or programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript or Groovy).
Location
- Must be located in Singapore.
- A valid Singapore work visa is required, if applicable.
