Principal Analytics Engineer
Summary
Designs and scales an edge/cloud analytics platform for autonomous vehicle data, enabling real-time insights and data products to accelerate robotics innovation.
About the role
We are looking for someone with deep expertise in large scale data analytics to build out our analytics team and platform. They will be responsible for architecture, implementation and ongoing enhancement to our edge and cloud analytics platform. Working together with our edge data and data warehousing teams to help us speed up development of our autonomous vehicle products with insights on near real-time data, create new data products and work on the cutting edge of robotics.
What you'll do
- Architect edge and cloud analytics platform and build it from the ground up to deliver insights, recommendations and clarity.
- Manage team of analytics engineers working with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ensure Forterra is on the cutting edge of robotics analytics.
- Manage data governance for analytics and collaborate with data warehousing and edge data engineering to ensure data quality, timeliness, secure and accessible.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years building and maintaining enterprise scale analytics platforms (eg. DBT, Tableau, Grafana PowerBI, Looker)
- 5+ years managing data specialists (data analysts, data engineers, data analytics engineers, data scientists, data modelers, business intelligence engineers)
- 5+ years in fast-paced, startup environments
- 5+ years working with highly sensitive data (eg. financial, medical, government contracts)
- Long track record of building analytics platforms from the ground up that deliver high impact insights and data products
- Love for cross-functional collaboration

US Salary Range
$190,000—$220,000
The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra’s overall compensation package.
