Lifebroker’s Digital Transformation programme is entering an exciting new phase as its modern platform moves into live operation. We’re looking for a Principal Engineering Manager to lead this transition, bringing deep, production-proven expertise across Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, AWS and Snowflake. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who understands how to operate, optimise and evolve a complex, integrated platform at scale.

With the foundations in place, your focus will be on unlocking what comes next, from enhancing digital application journeys and driving Agentforce-enabled efficiencies to advancing event-driven insurer integrations and real-time data pipelines. You’ll combine strong technical credibility with strategic leadership to identify opportunities, accelerate delivery and maximise the value of the platform, playing a key role in supporting Lifebroker’s future growth.

In this role you will:

  • Own the technical direction of the Lifebroker platform, leading architecture decisions across Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, AWS and Snowflake and ensuring the platform remains scalable, secure and technically robust as it evolves.
  • Unlock the commercial potential of the platform, identifying and delivering opportunities across digital journeys, automation, data and integration capabilities that directly support Lifebroker’s growth ambitions.
  • Lead the engineering function from programme delivery to platform excellence, establishing the operating model, engineering standards and ways of working required to successfully run and continuously improve a live, customer-facing platform.
  • Drive engineering delivery and platform reliability, translating business priorities into a realistic engineering roadmap while maintaining the performance and stability of insurer integrations, partner APIs and critical platform services.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, building capability across Salesforce, AWS and Snowflake while embedding strong practices across observability, incident response, security, change management and infrastructure as code.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ software engineering experience, including at least four years in an engineering leadership or management role with accountability for live, production-scale platforms.
  • Deep, hands-on Salesforce Financial Services Cloud experience, with strong knowledge of the FSC data model, platform architecture and post-go-live operation. Experience unlocking broader Salesforce capabilities, including Agentforce, will be highly valued.
  • Strong production experience across AWS, particularly serverless and event-driven architectures, with proven capability in designing and operating secure, resilient and cost-effective cloud environments.
  • Production experience with Snowflake, including data modelling, pipeline governance, performance optimisation and integration with operational platforms to enable real-time data and business insights.
  • Strong engineering and platform management practices, including observability, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, security, change management, incident response and API/integration management.
  • Proven engineering leadership capability, with experience leading high-performing teams, building technical capability and successfully transitioning engineering functions from programme delivery into ongoing platform ownership and operational excellence.
  • Strong commercial and delivery mindset, with experience in estimation, capacity planning and technology cost management, and the ability to balance business priorities, technical complexity, risk and delivery outcomes.
  • Highly regarded: Experience with Genesys Cloud, Salesforce Data Cloud, AI-assisted development tools, APRA CPS 234 requirements, or technology platforms within life insurance or financial services.
