Principal Enterprise Strategist

The Principal Enterprise Strategist is a senior strategic sales and business development role focused on developing high value relationships and creating opportunities within large enterprise accounts.

Unlike a traditional territory based Account Executive role, the Principal Enterprise Strategist will work across markets and geographies to identify enterprise transformation opportunities, develop executive relationships, and help customers align their business priorities with UDT’s technology, consulting, professional services, cybersecurity, and managed services capabilities.

This individual will engage with customer executives, technology leaders, UDT sales teams, solution architects, service leaders, and strategic technology partners to develop account strategies and shape complex opportunities from initial concept through execution.

Success in this role requires the ability to understand a customer’s business strategy, identify where technology can create measurable value, and mobilize the right UDT and partner resources to deliver a differentiated solution.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Account Development

  • Identify and develop strategic opportunities within large enterprise accounts across the United States.
  • Build relationships with senior business and technology leaders, including CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, infrastructure leaders, operations executives, and other key decision makers.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business priorities, technology environment, transformation initiatives, and operational challenges.
  • Create strategic account plans that identify near term opportunities while building a longer term roadmap for expanding UDT’s relationship with the customer.
  • Work alongside UDT account teams to expand relationships within existing customers and help open new strategic accounts.
  • Establish multiyear opportunities that increase recurring revenue and expand UDT’s strategic relevance within customer environments.

Opportunity Strategy and Development

  • Identify transformational initiatives where UDT can provide meaningful business and technology outcomes.
  • Help customers translate business challenges into technology strategies, architectures, and actionable initiatives.
  • Lead early stage opportunity development by bringing together the appropriate UDT technical, consulting, services, and partner resources.
  • Develop executive level value propositions that connect UDT’s capabilities to customer priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Shape complex opportunities involving multiple technologies, services, stakeholders, and strategic partners.
  • Maintain executive sponsorship and momentum throughout long and complex enterprise sales cycles.
  • Develop short term, midterm, and long term opportunity strategies within targeted accounts.

Solution and Services Alignment

Partner with UDT specialists to develop opportunities across the company’s portfolio, including:

  • Cybersecurity and risk management
  • Cloud and hybrid infrastructure
  • Networking and connectivity
  • Data center modernization
  • Modern workplace and endpoint solutions
  • Artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
  • Professional and consulting services
  • Managed services
  • Technology lifecycle services

The Principal Enterprise Strategist is not expected to be the technical architect for every solution. Instead, this individual must know how to identify the business problem, engage the right technical expertise, and lead the broader customer strategy.

Executive Engagement

  • Develop trusted relationships with senior customer executives and technology leadership.
  • Facilitate strategic technology and business planning discussions.
  • Lead executive briefings, workshops, strategy sessions, and customer presentations.
  • Communicate complex technology concepts in business terms that clearly demonstrate value, risk reduction, operational improvement, or financial impact.
  • Help customers evaluate competing priorities and develop practical technology transformation roadmaps.
  • Maintain executive engagement throughout the customer lifecycle.

UDT and Partner Collaboration

  • Work across UDT sales regions and account teams to identify and develop strategic enterprise opportunities.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, engineering teams, professional services, managed services, cybersecurity specialists, and executive leadership.
  • Engage strategic technology manufacturers and partners to strengthen customer strategies and accelerate opportunities.
  • Coordinate joint account planning and executive engagement with key technology partners.
  • Help align UDT, customer, and partner resources around complex opportunities.
  • Serve as a strategic resource to Account Executives when an opportunity requires additional executive engagement, enterprise strategy, or cross practice coordination.

Pipeline and Business Performance

  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of strategic enterprise opportunities.
  • Develop opportunities that drive profitable revenue, gross margin, and recurring services growth.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity information, account strategies, and activity within UDT’s CRM platform.
  • Provide reliable 30, 60, and 90 day forecasting for active opportunities.
  • Work with leadership to identify obstacles, competitive threats, investment requirements, and resources required to advance strategic pursuits.
  • Maintain accountability for progressing opportunities from initial identification through successful close and transition to delivery.

Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of experience in enterprise technology sales, strategic account management, consulting, business development, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated success working with large enterprise customers and complex technology environments.
  • Established experience developing relationships with executive and senior technology decision makers.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise technology, including cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, managed services, professional services, and modern workplace solutions.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic account plans involving multiple stakeholders, business units, and technology disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop large, complex opportunities with extended sales cycles.
  • Experience working with major technology manufacturers and partner ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of consultative and solution based selling methodologies.
  • Ability to connect technology solutions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong financial and commercial understanding, including pricing, margin, recurring revenue, and services based business models.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Self directed, highly accountable, and comfortable operating in a fast paced organization.
  • Ability to travel nationally as required to support strategic customer and partner engagements.

What Success Looks Like

  • Creating new strategic relationships within large enterprise accounts.
  • Expanding UDT’s executive level presence within existing customers.
  • Identifying transformation initiatives before they become transactional technology purchases.
  • Building larger, more strategic opportunities across multiple UDT practices.
  • Increasing professional services and managed services attachment.
  • Developing predictable, qualified enterprise pipeline.
  • Creating multiyear customer relationships and recurring revenue opportunities.
  • Helping UDT account teams compete more effectively for complex enterprise opportunities.
  • Positioning UDT as a strategic advisor rather than simply a technology provider.
