Role Overview & Business Context

• Pointwest is seeking an elite

Principal Machine Learning Consultant / Solutions Architect to serve as our premier technical authority and trusted advisor for strategic AI/ML initiatives. This individual bridges the gap between enterprise business objectives and complex AI capabilities. This role is crucial to ensure seamless service delivery and technical governance. The role focuses on high value advisory, architecture design, solution quality, and talent mentorship, operating independent of direct line-management or P&L duties.

Essential Key Responsibilities

• Client Advisory & Technical Discovery

Trusted C-Suite Advisor:

Partner with client executives, product owners, and technical directors to define their AI/ML strategy, architectural roadmap, and technology adoption paths.

Technical Discovery & Assessment:

• Conduct deep-dive assessments of client data ecosystems, cloud infrastructure readiness, security constraints, and operational workflows to design feasible ML solution blueprints.

Solution Architecture & Engineering Governance

End-to-End Solution Architecture:

Design scalable, production-grade enterprise AI/ML solutions, incorporating robust MLOps practices (automated deployment, monitoring, drift detection, and version control).

Delivery Oversight & Quality Assurance:

Provide technical governance across active ML projects. Review solution architectures, data pipelines, and code bases to ensure high quality, performance, and adherence to industry standards.

Complex Technical Problem Solving:

Serve as the senior escalation point to unblock engineering teams on intricate technical, algorithmic, or architectural challenges.

Reusable and IP Development:

• Identify, develop and drive the adoption and continuous evolution of reusable architectural components, patterns, and assets across solutions.

Capability Building & Talent Mentorship

Team Elevation & Mentorship:

Train and mentor AI/ML Engineers and Data Scientists across the practice to elevate internal technical capabilities and bridge capacity constraints.

Competency Roadmaps:

Develop learning paths and competency frameworks aligned with emerging market demands (e.g., Generative AI, RAG architectures, and MLOps).

Recruitment Leadership:

• Lead technical evaluation and interviewing for candidate pipelines to expand Pointwest’s AI/ML talent pool.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Components

Thought Leadership & External Presence:

Authoring technical whitepapers or representing Pointwest as a speaker or panelist at tech conferences.

Vendor Program Management & Co-Selling:

Active collaboration with cloud vendor partner teams (AWS, Azure, GCP) on joint partner programs. .

Advanced GenAI / Agentic Stack Implementation:

• Hands-on development using specialized LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen) and Agentic workflows.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies

• Required Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum of 8+ years of experience developing and deploying enterprise analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions.

Technical Leadership:

Minimum of 3+ years in a technical leadership or architectural role, guiding ML engineering teams or leading solution design.

Core ML Expertise:

Proficiency in Classical Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, and Time Series Forecasting.

MLOps & Cloud Infrastructure:

Solid foundations in MLOps pipelines (model deployment, monitoring, drift detection, versioning) and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications:

AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty (or equivalent Azure / GCP AI specialty certification).
