Principal .NET Developer (C#, .NET, AWS)
Salary: $1100-1300
- Long Term Contract Opportunity
- Enterprise Scale AI rollout
- $1100-1350+GST a day
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Principal .NET & AWS Engineer to join a major, long term technology transformation.
This is not a traditional .NET development position or a pure DevOps role. It is a genuinely hand on engineering opportunity for someone who can design and build modern C# services while taking ownership of the AWS infrastructure, Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines supporting them.
You will work across application development, cloud architecture and platform engineering, helping build secure, scalable services within a complex enterprise environment. The broader program includes the development of AI enabled capabilities using AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock.
About The Day to Day:
- Design and build production grade APIs, serverless applications and distributed microservices using modern C#/.NET, AWS Lambda and other cloud-native services.
- Make architectural decisions across Lambda, ECS and EKS, including the supporting AWS networking, IAM, security, connectivity and data-service patterns.
- Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules, covering remote state, environment management, validation, testing and controlled infrastructure deployments.
- Design end to end CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing, code-quality controls, security scanning, approval gates, deployment strategies and rollback processes.
About You:
- Strong recent hands on experience with modern C#/.NET, including the design and delivery of APIs, microservices and distributed production applications.
- Deep practical AWS knowledge covering VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, NACLs, PrivateLink, VPC endpoints, IAM roles, policies and trust relationships.
- Commercial experience selecting, implementing and troubleshooting AWS compute services, particularly Lambda, ECS and EKS, within a large or regulated enterprise.
- Advanced Terraform experience, including reusable modules, versioning, remote state, state locking, provider lock files, validation, testing and configuration-drift management.
- Demonstrated experience personally building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy or similar, including integrated testing, security scanning and secrets management.
- Worked on Cloud based AI inititives, I.e AWS Bedrock
Important
- This role requires genuine hands on capability across both software development and cloud/platform engineering.
- It will not suit a conventional .NET developer who has only consumed existing AWS environments and deployment pipelines.
- Equally, it will not suit a pure DevOps engineer without strong, recent C#/.NET software-development experience.
- Candidates should be able to explain what they personally designed, built and troubleshot across application code, AWS, Terraform and CI/CD.
- You must be based in Sydney, able to attend the CBD office three days per week, and hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
Apply
If you are a Senior or Principal level Engineer with a strong C#/.NET foundation and genuinely hands on AWS, Terraform and CI/CD expertise, please apply with an up to date CV outlining the cloud-native platforms and services you have personally delivered.
