About you
You know what a healthy developer platform looks like: tiered access, clear governance, and documentation partners can actually build against. You've turned a scattering of one-off integrations into a real ecosystem before, with the discipline to back it with policy, not just intent.
This is a new function at splose, built largely from scratch. Reporting directly to the CPO, you'll own the public API strategy end to end, from access and governance to partner onboarding and marketplace curation, guided by a clear build vs buy vs partner view of where splose invests next. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Growth, Design and Customer Success, plus a growing list of external developers and partners, comfortable designing the frameworks as you go.
What you'll do
Integration & ecosystem strategy
Establish and own splose's overall integration and ecosystem strategy, aligned to company and product goals
Decide how and when access is granted to the splose public API, including tiering and eligibility criteria
Define what information is needed from potential partners upfront, and how it's collected, verified and kept current
Own API governance: scope design, permissioning and access controls
Oversee the quality, clarity and consistency of API documentation authored by developers
Partner with Engineering on API security and performance standards
Work with Product teams to identify, prioritise and develop new API capabilities
Build vs buy vs partner
Design and maintain a repeatable decision model for build vs buy vs partner, with documented rationale
Apply that model to guide product and engineering investment decisions on new capabilities
Partnerships & marketplace
Actively source new third-party developer partnerships that complement splose's native product
Lead end to end onboarding of third-party integrations onto the splose platform
Partner with Growth and Product on the Integrations Marketplace page: positioning, discoverability and ongoing curation
Work with Customer Success on clear customer-facing support messaging for third-party apps
What you'll bring
8+ years in product management, including significant experience owning a platform, API or developer-facing product
Experience building or scaling a partner or integration ecosystem, including governance, onboarding and documentation standards
A track record of sourcing and closing third-party partnerships that expanded a product's reach or capability
Experience defining structured decision frameworks, such as build vs buy vs partner, and applying them to real investment decisions
Working understanding of API security, performance and scope-based governance models
Strong systems thinking, with the ability to design governance models that scale beyond a single decision
Excellent cross-functional influence, particularly with Engineering, Growth and Customer Success
A commercial mindset, comfortable weighing partnership and build vs buy vs partner trade-offs
Clear communication, able to translate technical API and governance concepts for non-technical and external audiences
Comfort operating with ambiguity while bringing structure and clarity to a new functionn
Experience in health-tech, practice management, or other regulated or compliance-sensitive industries is a bonus
