Process Engineer (Precision Machining)
Summary
Develops and optimizes precision machining processes (CNC, milling, grinding, EDM) to improve yield and efficiency using Lean/Six Sigma, while troubleshooting technical issues in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes to improve yield, productivity, process capability, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot technical and process-related issues in machining operations such as CNC machining, milling, grinding, and EDM.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, Kaizen, and DOE methodologies.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), process transfer, process qualification, and engineering builds.
- Conduct process validation, Cp/Cpk analysis, and reliability improvement activities to ensure stable manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and vendors to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing capability.
- Support cost reduction, capacity expansion, and localization projects for materials and consumables.
- Prepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, technical reports, and training materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in process/manufacturing engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in precision machining, CNC, grinding, milling, or EDM processes is highly preferred.
- Experience in high-tech, semiconductor, ceramics, or advanced manufacturing industries is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement, troubleshooting, and manufacturing operations.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA, and Kaizen tools.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
- Good command of English.
