Process Engineer - Steelmaking (Upstream)

Summary

Engineer steelmaking processes for a new plant in China, drafting work instructions, specs, and SOPs while coaching local teams to meet production standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide EMF and WI (work instructions) to LDI (local design institute) and suppliers.
  • Provide input on equipment layout. Compile description book on process schedule.
  • Be able to compile potential key issues list of the equipment to reduce the occurrence of common design issues.
  • Compile specifications & requirements on instruments of key auxiliary devices.
  • Participate in commissioning at the end of one phase to ensure smooth operations of the production line.
  • Compile SOP of the steelmaking process.
  • Coach the local team to reach AM’s production standards. Handle complicated issues.
  • Compile and keep updating FEMA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Coach the local team on AM Tech regulations.

Requirements:

  • Be familiar with AM products & engineering requirements.
  • Be knowledgeable& experienced in electrical steel.
  • Be highly motivated to join the greenfield project in China.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, planning and organization skills
  • Good English and Chinese language capability (must skills)
  • Possessing greenfield-project experiences will be a plus.
