Processing Unit Coordinator

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform regular production operations as needed, including:
    • Sand blasting
    • Deburring
    • Parts cleaning
    • Painting
    • Plating
  • Coordinate daily workflow within the department to support production schedules, quality standards, and operational priorities.
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to department personnel, serving as a technical resource and point of contact on the production floor.
  • Assist with the training and onboarding of new employees, reinforcing standard work practices, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Support supervisors and management by monitoring workflow, communicating production status, and helping resolve production or personnel issues.
  • Assist in conducting interviews and evaluating candidates for department positions as requested.
  • Ensure parts, equipment, media (tumble/blast), tooling, and materials are organized, available, and ready to support daily production requirements.
  • Review travelers, work orders, special instructions, and other production documentation to ensure jobs are completed accurately and in accordance with specifications.
  • Set up and adjust equipment as trained and in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate part counts, production records, router information, certification documents, and travelers.
  • Assist with departmental reporting, documentation, production tracking, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform and verify required inspections and testing procedures to ensure product quality standards are met.
  • Promote compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Escalate equipment, quality, safety, or production concerns to department supervision in a timely manner.

Compensation:

  • $29/hr.-$35/hr. Based on applicable skills and experience

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a metal finishing or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience as a lead, trainer, or senior operator preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, travelers, blueprints, and process documentation.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards, production processes, and safety procedures.
  • Experience training and mentoring employees is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
