Procurement Director

Summary

Leads global procurement for a high-growth AI tech company, owning the full procure-to-pay cycle, supplier contracting, and cost-saving initiatives using Oracle NetSuite.

We are looking for a Procurement Director to lead our procurement function with global responsibility, owning the end-to-end procure-to-pay cycle — from purchase requisition through purchase order to supplier contracting — in a dynamic, high-growth tech environment. Reporting to the CFO and leading a team, you will design procurement strategy, governance, and processes that balance speed of execution with cost discipline and compliance, working in close partnership with FP&A and Legal, and managing a supplier base spanning cloud, software, hardware, and professional services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle globally, across all Group entities and geographies: purchase requisition intake and approval workflows, PO issuance and management, goods/services receipt, and alignment with Accounts Payable through to invoice matching;

  • Coordinate with the FP&A Team to verify budget consistency of purchase requests, ensuring every requisition and PO is validated against approved budgets and forecasts before commitment;

  • Lead supplier contracting end-to-end in close coordination with the Legal team: negotiation, contract drafting and review, execution, renewals, and termination;

  • Administer and continuously optimize the procurement modules of Oracle NetSuite (requisitions, approvals, POs, vendor records, receiving), ensuring data integrity and process adoption across the Group;

  • Define and enforce global procurement policies, DoA/approval matrices, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policy and audit requirements;

  • Build and manage the vendor master: onboarding, due diligence, qualification, performance reviews, and risk management;

  • Drive spend analysis, category strategies, and cost-saving initiatives; report savings, spend under management, and cycle-time KPIs to the CFO;

  • Partner with Engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to forecast purchasing needs and support budgeting cycles;

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately two procurement professionals.

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Law, or related field;

  • 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role, ideally in tech or other fast-paced scale-up environments;

  • Proven hands-on expertise with Oracle NetSuite as ERP, specifically the full AP cycle: purchase requisition, purchase order, receiving, and vendor management;

  • Strong track record in supplier negotiation and contracting, including complex technology agreements, working alongside in-house Legal Team;

  • Experience operating with global/multi-entity scope and cross-border suppliers;

  • Solid understanding of P2P controls, budget verification processes, AP interfaces, and financial compliance requirements;

  • Prior experience managing and developing a small team;

  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Italian is a strong plus.

Who you are

  • A strategic negotiator who creates leverage and delivers measurable savings without compromising quality or speed.

  • A strong process and systems mindset, with the ability to design scalable, ERP-driven workflows (Oracle NetSuite).

  • You collaborate effectively across functions, partnering seamlessly with FP&A on budget alignment and with Legal on contracts.

  • You build trusted relationships with C-level stakeholders, Engineering, and Finance.

  • You are a hands-on people leader who coaches, develops, and empowers a small team.

  • You take ownership and execute effectively in ambiguous, high-growth environments across multiple geographies.

  • You apply analytical rigor to make data-driven decisions on spend, supplier performance, and risk.

  • You have a strong integrity and compliance mindset, viewing governance and controls as enablers rather than blockers.
