Job Summary:

The Procurement Supply Chain Decarbonization Specialist is responsible for developing and executing supplier-focused climate and decarbonization programs across Vertiv's global supply base. The role drives supplier emissions transparency, climate performance improvement, supplier GHG data quality, and implementation of initiatives supporting Scope 3 emissions reduction.

Acting as the central procurement focal point for climate-related supplier engagement, this position supports the development of supplier decarbonization roadmaps, climate risk management initiatives, low-carbon material strategies and emerging environmental regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Climate & Decarbonization Program Ownership

  • Lead execution of Vertiv's supplier decarbonization strategy.
  • Support achievement of procurement-related climate and sustainability objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce Scope 3 emissions through supplier engagement and sourcing strategies.

Supplier GHG Management

  • Lead supplier GHG emissions data collection and validation activities.
  • Drive supplier participation in emissions reporting programs.
  • Evaluate supplier carbon reduction targets, commitments and performance.
  • Support development of supplier emissions baselines and reduction pathways.
  • Analyze emissions trends and identify high-impact improvement opportunities.
  • Develop supplier segmentation approaches based on emissions impact and climate maturity.
  • Promote adoption of science-based targets and climate reduction programs across the supply base.

Supply Chain Decarbonization Initiatives

  • Identify and support implementation of supplier emissions reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on renewable energy, energy efficiency and decarbonization opportunities.
  • Support sourcing initiatives involving low-carbon materials and products.
  • Evaluate opportunities to reduce upstream carbon footprint through supplier selection and engagement.
  • Develop recommendations supporting procurement decision-making related to climate performance.

Climate Performance Improvement & Corrective Actions

  • Lead the development and implementation of climate-related supplier improvement and corrective action programs.
  • Identify suppliers with elevated GHG emissions, insufficient climate management practices, or gaps in emissions reporting and reduction planning.
  • Develop and track supplier climate corrective actions aimed at improving emissions transparency, target setting, climate governance, and reduction performance.
  • Monitor implementation progress, escalate overdue climate improvement actions, and support suppliers in addressing identified gaps.
  • Measure effectiveness of climate corrective actions and assess resulting emissions reduction and supplier climate maturity improvements.
  • Collaborate with commodity managers and suppliers to establish practical decarbonization roadmaps and improvement milestones.
  • Incorporate climate performance improvement outcomes into supplier scorecards, risk assessments, and procurement decision-making processes.

Climate Risk & Regulatory Compliance

  • Support climate risk assessments across the supply base.
  • Coordinate climate-related supplier due diligence activities.
  • Support implementation of requirements related to emerging climate and emissions-related regulations.
  • Assess supplier preparedness for evolving climate disclosure expectations.
  • Monitor environmental compliance trends and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Monitor emerging climate-related regulations and industry expectations impacting suppliers.

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop climate-related dashboards, KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Analyze supplier emissions data and identify key trends.
  • Support Scope 3 emissions reporting and related disclosures.
  • Provide reporting and insights to procurement leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support customer requests related to supplier climate performance and emissions data.
  • Ensure high standards of data quality and reporting integrity.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Procurement, Sustainability, Engineering and Product teams to integrate climate considerations into sourcing decisions.
  • Support customer and investor climate-related information requests.
  • Collaborate with external service providers supporting emissions data management and climate assessments.
  • Provide training and guidance to procurement teams on supplier decarbonization topics.
  • Support development of communication materials and supplier engagement campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
  • Experience in climate strategy, carbon accounting, sustainability, environmental compliance or supply chain sustainability.
  • Strong understanding of GHG Protocol principles and Scope 3 emissions management.
  • Experience working with supplier emissions data and climate reporting frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), CDP, CBAM and emerging climate regulations.
  • Strong analytical and data management capabilities, project management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, stakeholder management and project leadership
  • Independent, self-driven individual with proven ability to work effectively across global and cross‑functional environment
