Product Back-end Engineer

Job Summary
As a member of the Product Back-end team, you will be at the forefront of new feature development for Pairs, directly impacting project success, business outcomes, and user happiness. As part of Match Group, you will have the opportunity to work with international brands and colleagues.
Daily collaboration with product managers, front-end engineers, and other colleagues will drive your work. You will be responsible for everything from the design to the implementation of back-end solutions using a diverse tech stack including MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch, releasing features that help Pairs users find their ideal partners.
You will review design documents and pull requests with the back-end team, contributing to the continuous improvement of our codebase and team practices. You will have the opportunity to frequently collaborate with other teams to identify new challenges and create opportunities to influence the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Be responsible for back-end development of new features from feasibility to release
- Design, implement, and operate scalable, observable, and maintainable back-end solutions
- Collaborate frequently with colleagues in product, front-end, BI, marketing, and more
- Contribute to the team by reviewing design documents and pull requests, and proposing process improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in team development
- Programming skills in a general-purpose language, including Go (preferred)
- Knowledge of system design (databases, caches, message queues, etc.)
- Experience in developing APIs and back-end systems
- Experience in development using public clouds (AWS, GCP)
- Communication and documentation skills
- An approach to development that leverages collaboration and a product mindset
- A strong desire to learn Go and back-end technologies
