Product Design Engineer
Summary
Designs and coordinates subsea oilfield equipment like wellheads and trees, ensuring projects meet technical specs and deadlines while collaborating with global teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and coordinate the technical scope of projects to ensure smooth on-time delivery and product quality.
Develop and review designs, part BOMs, specifications, calculations and drawings which meet the performance requirements of subsea equipment.
Lead discussions and reviews with the customers and suppliers.
Coordinate with various departments in manufacturing plant site (China) and Singapore design office to ensure seamless project execution.
Prepare design verification reports for third party review and certification.
Provide technical support and guidance through project life cycle from tender phase through design, manufacturing, assembly, test and installation.
Travel to vendors or customers’ facilities for meeting and discussion as required.
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3-8 years of product design experience with strong knowledge in Subsea Wellheads and Subsea Trees, and general knowledge of other products in Subsea Production System.
Must demonstrate a strong understanding of API 6A & API 17D and Q1 quality management systems.
Sound understanding of engineering practices, design methods & calculations.
Demonstrate high proficiency in using 3D modelling software for engineering design.
Experience with Solidworks and Finite Element Analysis Tools will be an advantage.
Ability to read, interpret & prepare applicable technical information & suggest design/process changes to ensure simple, functional and cost effective results.

Can work under a fast pace environment with tight schedule.
Meticulous with attention to delivering quality product.
Proactive with ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
Able to travel when required.
