Product Manager

Summary

Hands-on, AI-native product manager owning one of three fintech surfaces — Wealth & Asset Management, Core Banking, or Payments — end to end at Hyperlayer in London. Day to day: rapid AI-assisted prototyping, designing and governing AI agents, and system-level decisions on APIs, data models and integrations.

About the role

  • We're hiring a Product Manager (Product Builder) to take end-to-end ownership of one of three product surfaces: Wealth & Asset Management, Core Banking, or Payments. This is a hands-on, AI-native role — you'll move from concept to working prototype quickly, using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate discovery and delivery, rather than relying on lengthy specs and roadmap reviews. You'll work as part of a small, senior product team with direct access to engineering, customers and the founding team, and as the team grows, there's real scope to deepen your ownership of your chosen product surface's strategy.
  • This is an office-based role, with regular in-person collaboration in the office.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end product outcomes for your chosen surface — Wealth & Asset Management, Core Banking, or Payments — from discovery through to production
  • Move quickly from concept to working prototype, using AI-assisted tooling to test ideas rather than only writing specification
  • Design and govern AI agents within your product surface, defining what they can and cannot do, and holding the quality bar for their outputs.
  • Build systems that surface customer and market insight on demand, synthesising support data, user behaviour and market signals.
  • Make system-level product judgements — API design, data models and integration patterns — not just feature decisions.
  • Connect product decisions to measurable business and customer impact, and stay close to what's live through monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work directly with customers, engineering and the founding team, with no approval layers in between.

Qualifications

  • A demonstrable track record of shipping products in complex, regulated environments — not just owning a roadmap.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to prototype, generate insight, or build product surfaces, beyond writing or admin tasks.
  • Strong technical depth — you're comfortable reading an API spec, interrogating a data model, and challenging an engineering design.
  • A commercial understanding of how your domain generates and loses margin, and how product decisions affect that.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and pace, without an established playbook.
  • Deep domain expertise in at least one of the areas below (please let us know which when you apply):

Wealth & Asset Management — experience from inside a private bank, wealth platform, asset manager, or fintech serving this space, with regulatory depth across MiFID II, COBS, PRIIPs and suitability frameworks.

Core Banking — experience from inside a bank, a cloud-native core banking platform, or a fintech built on top of one, with knowledge of GL architecture, product parameters, and PRA/FCA/Basel III requirements.

Payments — experience from inside a bank, payment processor, scheme operator, or fintech payments platform, with fluency across Faster Payments, SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022 and sanctions/compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience spanning more than one of the domains above.

• Familiarity with model governance and explainability requirements in a regulated context.

• Experience defining evaluation criteria for AI-driven features in production.

Using AI at Hyperlayer

Hyperlayer is hyper-focused on making the most of AI across every workstream, and this role is no exception — AI fluency is the baseline here, not a bonus.

Day to day, you'll use AI-assisted tooling to move from concept to working prototype in days rather than weeks, and to synthesize customer support data, user behaviour and market signals into continuous product insight.

You'll also design and govern AI agents as part of your product surface, defining evaluation criteria and owning the quality of their outputs in production.
