Basic Function
Manage GST Domestic Adjacency lines for GST Fire Product business, who will focus on products segment for detect fire hazards application: Fire system connection (wireless IOT products), Combustible/Toxic gas hazards, battery energy storage system.
Responsible for managing the product life cycle, developing product strategy and roadmap, owning the product pricing, developing the product go-to-market plan, designing sales tools, providing product support to regional sales and technical support team. Also responsible for promoting GST brands, products and solutions in targeted verticals.
This person will also be tasked with developing product management as core competency within the business. He/she will be part of our product marketing & strategy function and will work closely with the sales, engineering and functional teams to develop and grow the D&A product lines.
Report to Senior Product & Marketing Manager of GST Fire Product.
Duties & Responsibilities
Developing market insights. Create and maintain market segmentation model. Reach out to both internal & external customers and understand the market requirement via VOC; routinely analyze competitors and their products through benchmarking and use of the competitive matrix; complete the SWOT analysis to develop the product roadmap for D&A product lines.
Manage the complete product life cycle. Determine market need for new products, features, and services based on market insights; make build vs buy decision (OEM or OVP). Co-operate with program managers, engineering department, and cross functional teams to drive the new product introduction. Own the product commercialization process, including product marketing documentation, sales tools, product training, product launch programs and etc. Manage product end of life including obsolescence impact, end of life, product phase in / phase out.
Utilize KGS’s Product Development Process called Passport program. Contribute and participate in Passport reviews; ensure the key project milestones are achieved.
Responsible for monitoring product compliance & government regulation changes. Understand the China fire regulatory changes and the potential impact to the business. Work closely with the Engineering department to ensure the appropriate product approvals are received and maintained.
Financial performance management. Own the product pricing and margin. Responsible for developing the price list for owned product lines; joined for special price approval; work with finance team to manage the product transfer price. Track and analyze the financial performance of product lines on a regular basis. Formulate strategies and plans to improve financial performance of the GST D&A product line.
Define the go-to-market strategy. Work with business leaders to develop the commercial policy and channel strategy.
Develop the product solutions for targeted verticals; implement the promotion programs to drive business growth in these areas.
Provide product trainings for distributor/partner/integrator of export product line.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or above is required. A mechanical, electrical engineering or marketing major is preferred.
A minimum 7 years work experience with at least 3 years of product management experience.
Work experience in product management department of a multi-national company is preferred.
Familiarity with China Fire Detection & Alarm market and regulatory is a plus.
Familiarity with Combustible/Toxic gas detectors and regulatory or IOT is a plus.
Good interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required. Highly reliable, committed and passionate personalities are preferred.
Both process & result oriented with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a challenging situation.
Demonstrated planning, organizational and facilitation skills.
Being a fast learner with strong problem-solving skills.
Fluent English (written & oral).
