Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Manager for Vehicle Controls to shape the next generation of in-vehicle control and settings experiences. This role focuses on delivering intuitive, reliable, and context-appropriate software experiences for how drivers and passengers interact with vehicle systems.

The Vehicle Controls product sits within the Core Experience domain and includes climate and comfort controls (HVAC, seats, defrost), vehicle controls and settings (ADAS features, drive modes, performance and EV pages, vehicle information), and connectivity features such as Wi‑Fi client and Wi‑Fi hotspot. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and evolving how customers understand, access, and control core vehicle functionality through the infotainment system.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for the Vehicle Controls experience.
  • Translate customer needs, usage patterns, and market trends into clear product priorities.
  • Balance ease of use, discoverability, and safety considerations when exposing vehicle controls and settings.
  • Evolve the product as new vehicle capabilities, software platforms, and regulations emerge.

Experience & Feature Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end experience for vehicle controls, including interaction flows, system states, and edge cases.
  • Define experiences for climate and comfort controls, vehicle settings, information pages, and connectivity features.
  • Partner with UX, UI, and Brand teams to deliver clear, intuitive, and distraction-aware control experiences.
  • Work closely with engineering to deliver features that are robust, responsive, and production-ready.

Customer Insights & Product Analytics

  • Use user research, usability testing, and in-vehicle studies to understand how customers interact with vehicle controls.
  • Apply product analytics to evaluate feature usage, engagement, error conditions, and performance.
  • Use insights to refine interaction models, simplify complexity, and guide future feature development.

Technical Collaboration

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand system architecture, vehicle interfaces, and platform constraints.
  • Ensure product requirements are feasible, clearly defined, and aligned with vehicle and software capabilities.
  • Manage dependencies with vehicle systems, ADAS, powertrain, connectivity, and infotainment platform teams.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Align with UX, Engineering, Vehicle Systems, and Program teams on priorities and delivery plans.
  • Communicate product direction, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Drive execution through strong product judgment, customer empathy, and data‑driven decision‑making.

What Success Looks Like

  • Customers can easily and confidently control vehicle systems in real‑world driving scenarios.
  • Climate, comfort, and vehicle settings are intuitive, responsive, and predictable.
  • Vehicle information and control experiences integrate smoothly with the broader infotainment system.
  • Product decisions are grounded in real customer behavior and measurable outcomes.
  • UX, Engineering, and Vehicle System partners see you as the clear owner of the Vehicle Controls product.
  • Vehicle control experiences contribute meaningfully to overall customer satisfaction and brand perception.
