Product Manager (volunteer)

Location: Fully Remote, work from home (Anywhere worldwide)

Duration: Minimum 3 months

Working hours: Minimum of 10 hours/week

Role Summary:

We need an experienced Product Manager to help steer our projects and keep things moving. You'll be the bridge between our goals and the team building them, making sure everyone understands the vision and gets the support they need to succeed. The product manager drives design and development to a timeline with the help of the project manager. Our products are software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help set clear project goals and keep our development plans on track.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define product goals and maintain the product roadmap.

• Break down big ideas into clear, easy-to-follow instructions for the team.

• Simplify and clearly communicate the vision of what we’re trying to build with members of the engineering department, including during new team member onboarding.

• Help out whenever the team gets stuck, keeping everything running smoothly.

• Create detailed product requirements documents (PRDs) as needed to spec out new features.

• Work with the project manager to manage sprint activities and track progress.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience.

• Proven experience in product management, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.

• Strong knack for simplifying complicated ideas and communicating them clearly.

• Great problem-solving skills and the ability to help unblock tasks.

• Ability to work well with a diverse, remote team.

• Can work without constant supervision or micromanagement.

Volunteer Requirements

• Dedicate between 5 and 10 hours each week, with daily commitment and participation of 1-2 hours.

• Participate in required team standups every Friday at 6:30pm GMT+6. (communicate promptly if you can’t make it)

• Respond to all DMs and emails within 48 hours.

• Maintain active communication via Google Chat & WhatsApp.

1. Stage 1: Initial Interview (30 mins): An asynchronous online conversation with AI. We evaluate each response directly, so please avoid using external AI tools.

2. Stage 2: Team Interview: A direct, 1-on-1 video call with our Annita (HR Coordinator) and Sirri (Co-founder/CTO) to align on shared expectations and role fit.

3. Stage 3: Onboarding: Should both sides agree it is a great match, we will send over your official invitation to join the team!
