Production Warehouse Operations Lead - Tanzania

Main Purpose:

  • This is a strategic role within the country Make Mission Team (MMT) whose primary responsibility is to develop strategy for logistics and warehousing services for all production inputs including but not limited to: Logistics for Raws Seeds, Foundation seeds, Treating chemicals, packaging materials and the distribution to multiple tolling sites within Tanzania.
  • Further, the role will be responsible for contracting inbound and outbound logistics to ensure the optimized seed production and Quality operations in Tanzania. Further, the role be responsible for coordinating stock movement in SAP from receiving Raw Seeds, Foundation Seeds, Final goods stage and ensure 100% physical and system stock matching.
  • This is expected to be achieved by Coordinating weekly stock counts and mass balancing of the inventories.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Logistics and Warehousing strategy in line with the Field Production and Tolling operations strategies for Tanzania.
  • Operationalize the strategy and ensuring appropriate resources are deployed timely to ensure optimized intake, storage and release operations.
  • Develop operational plans and reports such as daily intake reports, weekly stock counts, and monthly stock counts and perform necessary reconciliation and reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Develop operational budget and control systems to ensure effective utilization of resources consistent with out Dynamic Resource Flows.
  • You will be key coordinator for all EHS and One PSS and OMS within the warehouse operations in the various operating sites.
  • You will be responsible for contract management for Transporters Warehouses and temporal labour for the site to ensure full compliance to both legal and Bayer policies.
  • Ensure all team members and well trained in the use and application of SAP and other digital platforms.
  • Utilize onePSS as a platform to implement best practices, for example, Visual Management to track Operations KPI`s on Tier 2 and 3 meetings.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • A Bachelors degree in Businesses/ Finance/ Supply Chain.
  • At least 5 years' experience in Warehouse and Supply Chain operations and management or planning.
  • MS Office software (Excel, E-mail, Word, Project etc.)
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Results focused with ability to work on own initiative
  • Strong teamwork (flexibility to work across the areas and positively influencing others)
  • Establish clear direction and making decisions on a timely manner
  • Fluent in English
  • ISO training - desirable
