The mission of the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) is to protect, preserve, and promote the health and well-being of all Boston residents, particularly the most vulnerable. The BPHC envisions a thriving Boston where all residents live healthy, fulfilling lives free of racism, poverty, violence, and other systems of oppression. Duties
- Coordinates, monitors, develops and implements projects and/or initiatives for Injury Prevention Program
- Coordinates and monitors program activities to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards and/or contracted goals & objectives
- Reviews and analyzes information and data concerning BPHC program, to determine effectiveness; makes recommendations for changes in procedures; provides technical assistance, training and advice to staff and others; responds to inquiries and maintains liaison with various external agencies to provide information concerning program
- Collaborates with various private, state, local and federal agencies, coalitions, NHC's and CBOs to exchange information and/or resolve problems, including help co-lead Safe Kids Boston coalition
- As a member of a multidisciplinary team, provides health education to clients, in schools and community based settings. Represents BPHC and program at meetings, health fairs and conferences
- Coordinates activities which may include: fiscal monitoring; grant writing; monitoring of funded programs or agencies to ensure compliance; report preparation and writing; assisting with developing and distributing communications, brochures and educational materials; and updating program website
- Contributes subject expertise to policy and program development
- May supervise employees
- Will work closely with the Bureau Administrator on program purchases and tracking payments
- Performs other duties as required
